Me and the Trinity’s newest EP “The Golden Life” just recently dropped, and it is quite a doozie. The album opens with the heavy hitting track There Will Be Blood. If the listener was unaware that it’s a concept album the lyrics

“We are nothing but scavengers and we will stop at nothing to fill our pockets. I am nothing without my gold.”

(which are also repeated at the end of 1933) would most likely throw them off and make them question the bands intentions. However, as their facebook clearly outlines the album contains four true stories of men searching for “the golden life” which they describe as
what you live for, what you believe your purpose to be, what fuels you.
Every track is heavy hitting, but the most powerful track on the record has to be Common Wealth it opens with a building guitar riff behind Jesse Denaro (formerly of von Wolfe) singing, which is a nice change up from Timmy’s rougher vocals. The song is the story of a middle class man content with his place in life only worried about providing for his family and never working for more. It makes you think more than any other track on the album. On the one hand the man isn’t binding himself in treasures on earth, but on the other hand the man keeps having opportunity to gain more and use it to help others. The narrator sees it as a life mistake, and in retrospect realizes he could have done more, which leaves us to wonder where in our lives could we do more to help our fellow man.
